2022 Election of Westpointe Community Council Board of Directors
Candidate Nominations Open Now through Monday, January 10, 2022 (EXTENDED)

Election: Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 7:00 PM - Friday, January 15, 2022 at 11:59pm
The election for the 2022 Board of Directors of the Westpointe Community Council includes several officer positions and up to five board members. Elected officers generally have two year terms and must be residents within the Westpointe Community Council area. Elected Board members serve one year terms and can be either an individual resident or organizational members. Newly elected board members will assume office as of February 1, 2021.

This year voting will be conducted online starting on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 7:00 PM and closing on Friday, January 15, 2022 at 11:59pm MT. Ballots submitted after this deadline may not be included in the total vote tally.

Interest in Serving Community
Candidates should have an interest in serving and advocating for their community.
18 Years or Older
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to serve on the Westpointe Community Council Board of Directors.
Westpointe Member
Members of the Westpointe Community Council live, work, or own property within the Westpointe boundaries of incorporated Salt Lake City.

Eligibility to Serve and Vote
  • Be at least 18 years or older AND
    • Be a resident or property owner within the boundaries* served by the Westpointe Community Council OR
    • Be an authorized representative of a civic organization, business, service agency or institution located within the boundaries* served by the Westpointe Community Council

Boundaries
Westpointe is situated within the following boundaries: On the North is the Salt Lake City limit, on the South is 700 North, on the West is the Salt Lake City limit and on the East is Redwood Road including the Earnshaw Lane development on the East side of Redwood Road at approximately 1770 North.

Council Membership
  • Council membership consists of individual residents as well as property owners and organizational representatives of a business, civic organization, service agency or institution located within the area.
  • Members of the Westpointe Community Council live, work, or own property within the Westpointe boundaries of incorporated Salt Lake City.
  • Usually such members can vote in Salt Lake City elections and/or pay (directly or indirectly) Salt Lake City property taxes.
  • People who reside within the Westpointe boundaries (see above) but whose household/property is located in pockets of unincorporated Salt Lake County are invited to serve on advisory committees and are welcome to attend council meetings. However, they are not voting members
